Welcome to the Global Financial Centres Index Questionnaire Z/Yen's Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) is a ranking of the competitiveness of financial centres based on a number of existing indices in combination with a regular questionnaire of senior industry figures from around the world. GFCI 26 provides evaluations of future competitiveness and rankings for 104 major financial centres around the world. The GFCI serves as a valuable reference for policy and investment decision-makers. Three Canadian cities rank among the top 20 of the 2017 Global Financial Centre Index – Toronto (#7), Montreal (#12) and Vancouver (#17). Each of them brings to the table different relative strengths that, when combined, portrays Canada as a major financial services powerhouse that is well positioned to take on an even bigger role going forward.
